credit report questions

Options
Hi All,
Im trying to improve my credit report and I've signed up to Credit Expert for a trial. I'm looking at my report now and a few things are not what I expected...

1) Financial Associations - How can I remove a financial assosiation with my Ex Wife? We shared a joint bank account pre bankruptcy, but there is no longer ANY association?

2) Defaulted accounts - I have 2 defaults showing to British Gas.

Lender BRITISH GAS TRADIN...
Type Electricity
Status Default
Balance Satisfied
updated 10/05/2009

and another

Lender BRITISH GAS TRADIN... Type Public Utility
Status Default
Balance £62
Updated 07/12/2008

I have no recollection of these, and have had no corespondance from them, to my knowledge. Is there any way I can investigate them and if possible, get them removed my report?!

Address Information -
Previously, when obtaining credit, I hadnt realised the importance of address dates. I wasnt sure when I moved into my current home... It was around 2007 I think but it could be either side. Anyway, I couldnt be bothered to check the first time I was asked and since then I've just guestimated so the dates have never been the same. Will this have a detrimant to my Credit File?

I have 3 negative factors
The usage of your available credit indicates a higher risk (3 maxed credit cards) but this is due to having huge debts elsewhere that have now been satisfied, so I can start to pay them off.

You have an account regarded as defaulted or delinquent see above

You have recently opened 1 or more new credit accounts.
Ive just opened am Aqua account with the sole intention of using it to pay for petrol and immediately pay it off, to help rebuild credit.

I have NO positive factors. Is there anything I can do immediately to influence this section?

Thanks for your help, It is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Poor couple

For point one, file a notice of disassociation.

For point two, others will be able to advise better than me so will skip this l. Could they have been valid defaults at your previous address, hence not receiving any correspondence or being chased by them? Or joint accounts with your ex?

When you have three maxed out cards that are being satisfied, what do you mean by this?

You can ignore most of the advice given by Credit Expert - they are just trying to justify their existance so you are tempted to pay £15/month after the trial. You should also ignore their credit score.

You should also check your file wiith Equifax too

    Thanks Bruce (The Boss) :rotfl:

I'll research the Notice of Disassociation (unless anyone has a link?)

My current partner had some debts which left us very short for cash, and we were reliant on Credit Cards until her debts were sorted. She no longer has these debts to worry about so our income can go further and I can start to repay the debts on my credit cards. (Other than sharing an address we have no financial association)

The Defaults from British Gas were at an old address, that could be why I dont know about them? Is that something that could be resolved or is it too late now to fix it?
