in Credit cards
I recently transfered a balance from one credit card to another(with % interest for a year) however month 2 I paid one day late because I thought the direct debet would kick in. They are now saying my % has been withdrawn and I must pay interest on the balance.anyone with any ideas please

Have you called and explained? Sometimes they may re-instate the offer if you ask nicely and tell them it was a genuine error.0

Your statement will say whether or not the DD will be collected and on what date. If it's the credit card providers fault (remembering that DD's take around 10 working days to set up), you have a strong case. However, if your bank refused it, or your statement made no mention, then your case is weakened somewhat. So...I thought the direct debet would kick in.
Ring them up, and grovel like you've never grovelled before.anyone with any ideas please
If that fails, shift the balance onto another card.0 -
Yep they should fix things if you call and say its a mistake and the DD didnt get set up. If that doesnt work then maybe get another 0% card.0

Phone them up, be sorry and be nice, maybe they’ll restore the interest free period. You cannot demand it.
Only ever rely on a DD to come out correctly when the previous month's invoice states:
“This sum will be deducted from you account on the….date…..or later.”0 -
Thanks for all your help.
I did send them a really grovelling e-mail but all i received back was a standard e-mail ,stating that it did say it would take 8 weeks for the direct debit to take shape, but before i paid them I did see that the direct debit was in place. I think I will try the telephone grovelling approach.0
