When a credit check is carried out for renting a property what is it that the check will actually show? I've read lots of different answers.will it show defaults and missed payments or your actual score.

It will definitely show defaults but not missed payments. When applying for a tenancy the credit-check is only half of the story.0

The credit check will show everything thats on your credit file (not your credit score as thats not part of your file)
It will depend more on what they are actually looking for, they could be looking for credit/payment history, they could just be confirming identity.
When i starting renting my current place i also had to confirm my wages as well as confirm my previous rental payments0 -
It won't show everything on your credit file only things on public record .
You can see an example of an experian credit report on private landlord directory Facebook page it was posted a couple of weeks ago I think and many times before that as there are a lot of requests for this0 -
That's right. Landlords are not allowed to see your private credit history data, just public records such as court judgments and bankruptcies. This information can be boiled down into a score but it will be quite different to any score a lender calculates.
