Egg card and loan PPI confusion

Guys and Gals, Help!!!!
I have been in negotiations with Egg/Ombudsman trying to reclaim PPI on a loan that would not have actually paid out given my circumstances. I also had credit card PPI which was infact the same product. Egg argue against my claim for the credit card PPI as was secured online with no sales person pushing the product however they will probably pay the loan PPI!
I have stated that i only took on the credit card PPI on the basis of being convinced that the PPI was a sure bet if prolems arose having listened to their sales people during the uptake of the loan PPI!
Who is right here, my view is that they are looking to cut their losses!
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Ta in advance.

While this may well have been the case, the fact remains that you bought this insurance without being specifically advised to do so at the point of application. You bought of your own volition and, as such, mis-bought rather than being mis-sold.johnny_boy wrote: »I have stated that i only took on the credit card PPI on the basis of being convinced that the PPI was a sure bet if prolems arose having listened to their sales people during the uptake of the loan PPI!
Your argument is valid, but very weak since it is "hearsay" which you cannot prove and the Bank dispute.
Good luck with your loan PPI complaint...0 -
If the Credit card would not have paid out due to your circumstances the same as the loan, reject this and write back to them, if you had a good sickness package, savings, life insurance or other means to repay this card should the worst happen, use these reasons too.
If you already had cover elsewhere then why would you have taken this PPI anyway.0 -

For all their faults the banks can't be blamed for everything. You freely chose to apply for PPI without any advice or pressure, and as such should accept the consequences of your decision.0
