Reviving plastic topiary

This may seem like a very odd question however I figured it was worth a try.

I have a couple of artificial topiary trees at my front door. Was forced to go for artificial after the rampant rabbit population chewed their way through several hundred pounds worth of real ones.

The plastic ones have worked well - we only had one little bit chomped off and the suspect was found dead at the bottom of the garden the following day which made me feel better. They are now 2 years old and as we are in a really exposed site they are looking a bit weary. The shape is still fine however the colour is taking on a sort of silvery tinge to it - certainly not as green as they were.

Does anyone know if I can spray them with paint? and if there is any kind of special paint or one that would be best.

The trees are like this

Unfortunately I can't remove them from the containers as they are concreted in however I should be able to cover the bases while I spray.

I have a couple of the round ball shaped ones which have faded too. I have had them a bit longer than you but I have found that the leaves are dropping off now as the plastic is beginning to deteriorate so I don't think they will last much longer.

I don't know about painting them as it would be difficult to get the colour evenly disributed, but it might help keep the leaves on.
