Just remember that he won't be able to do long walks straight away - so it's still more running around in the garden to keep him busy for a while yet! The rule of thumb is 5 minutes per month of age. This is more for 'forced' exercise, i.e. walking on a lead especially on hard surfaces, you get a bit more leeway with off-lead playing in the park but you still don't want to overdo it.

My Lenny loves his Kong and as above they come in a huge range of sizes! Have a look online for ideas what to fill them with, there's endless possibilities really!

Thank you, I will bear in mind the walking times! I ended up getting a blue "puppy" kong. I also got the puppy treats and the squirty stuff you put in it. God that stuff smells revolting - like really sweaty feet!! Anyway, he loves it, strange creature hahahaha. I didn't want to use peanut butter yet in case it upset his stomach but is it okay? The puppy kong treats only just squeeze inside the kong and he can't get them out. He tends to last about 3 minutes with it then give up in frustration. Should I put stuff in that easily falls out at the moment? He's nearly 10 weeks old now. Thanks.

Yes, start with easier stuff, if he's getting frustrated then it's too difficult. You could always chop the treats up a bit.

I would use just a teeny smear of peanut butter - blobs can stick in the throat because of the texture so you really just want the lightest smear, so he's licking it out rather than knocking chunks out. Introduced slowly, it shouldn't upset his tum.

One thing I've done before is soak regular dry dog food in some warm water then blitz in in the food processor - you can vary the thickness by adding more or less water, and then you can stuff this into the Kong. Just remember to feed less at breakfast or dinner time to account for however many biscuits you used. I would start with it quite runny, so it's easy to get out, and work up to a thicker paste, then slowly start to freeze it so it becomes more difficult. This may be over days or weeks, just watch for signs that he's getting bored, and take a step back in difficulty if he is.

Thank you. I've just started introducing dry food (Arden Grange added to NatureDiet) to his meals so I'll give that a go. I do have some little treats suitable from 8 weeks that I give him when he's done his business outside in the garden so maybe put a few of them in. He loves those.

The Naturediet will make a fab filling :) You can microwave it slightly too so it's more tempting - I'd put a small amount on a plate, and zap for max. 5 seconds at a time, until it's warm but not really hot - test the middle by mashing it up with a fork first, then stuff in the Kong

I think I'll put his lunch in it tomorrow and see how he gets on ;) I microwave the naturediet for 10 secs then mash slightly and add the dry Arden Grange. He wolfs it down :)
