                    Hello,
I've agreed to let a private rented property through a letting agency and have been told I need to get tenant's liability insurance which covers the landlord's contents.
I've been passed a link for Homelet who do one but I'm guessing it will be overly expensive through them.
Does anyone know of insurance companies who will insure my contents and also the liability for landlord's contents in the same policy?

Most Home Contents insurance includes it as standard.
I know my M&S policy has 40,000 of landlords liability0

Landlord's Liability normal refers to the building/guttering and not the contents though0

For example with the M&S wording:Contents
Household goods, frozen foods, personal effects, office equipment, valuables and money (up to £500) are included provided that they belong to you or your family or you or you are legally responsible for them.
If your liable for your landlords content then it would be covered. If your not liable for it then you have no worries anyway0

thanks, but I'm not sure that would cover landlord's goods. not for accidental damage anyway.0

You can always get a quote from homelet and compare it to other quotes you have got.
it didn't work out that bad for me0

Certainly for M&S it would as there is no explicit clause that excludes it.
Havent looked at Home insurance for a few years but certainly this was the standard then and the "tenants insurance" was low quality, low limit, high price policies simply preyed on ignorance.
I know with my home insurance, M&S quoted 280 (inc cashback from Quidco) and HomeLet quoted 9150

Don't you mean tenants liability? Tenants liability is usually for buildings, hobs, glass, sanitaryware etc..
The definition you have quoted is normal contents cover.0

homlets is very basic and expensive, the agents get a kick back . Go on gocompare and even the cheapest will do.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

badly worded, I meant your liability to your landlord.
As to the other section quoted, that was in reference to the OP saying that the section didnt cover the general contents owned by the landlord0
