car insurance fraud

have received 2 separate car insurance policies through the post in last 3 weeks for people and cars we have never heard of!! both taken out on credit terms. one was with AA and other with Adrian Flux - on contacting about what are clearly fraudulent applications they seem remarkably indifferent - will make note on file - send back paperwork - meanwhile more stuff continues to arrive - another credit agreement yesterday and AA membership details today!! getting concerned about effect this might have on our credit rating and future insurance for us - thought about contacting experian etc to get note put on file?? any ideas thanks

Wont affect your credit rating as these are personal and you say they arent coming in your name.

As you say, just return them with Addressee Unknown written across the front of the envelope

If a fraud marker is added to your address, although it won't show on your credit report it could be flagged to a lender. If someone's up to a bit of mischief at your address it might be sensible to check you credit report just to make sure they haven't tried to set anything up in your name.
