Morrisons can be cheap, but just speak to some of there staff and you can understand why.
Whats the saying, you pay peanuts and you get Monkeys.
After working for them in the past (yep i was one of the Monkeys) i would never trust Fresh food from them, avoid milk and cream at all cost!0 -
Dunno if it's just the Yeovil Morrisons but I find that any benefit of having wider aisles is countered by the baskets of 'offers' they put at jaunty angles all over the place to create pinch points.
Well think yourself lucky for having wide aisles for them to block with those stupid baskets. In the Cromer store the aisles are pokey and liberally obstructed with the wire trolley traps. I know it annoys lots of other people and I've even complained but Morrisons still seem to think it's a good idea.Joe

I was just wondering if anyone knew anywhere online that I could compare Morrisons prices or if in general they come out cheaper than the other major supermarkets?
Thanks
Hi,
You can directly compare Morrison against Asda prices, or vice versa http://!!!!!!.uk/BestBuys.aspx0 -
I had a bad experience at M's - bought Crisps on bogof. Few days later y.d. complained her crisps were green. I thought she meant the potato had been a bit green....checked the packaging, and had just gone past sell by date.
Took crisps and receipt back to M - Stunned to say the least when cs said when I had bought the crisps were in date - by 2 WHOLE DAYS !! Therefore tough !
Pointed out that I could hardly be expected to consume 24 packets of crisps in 2 days - and they had them on bogof promotion. But she wouldn't budge on it. Ended up binning the crisps in store.
I don't shop at M regularly, but if I am passing the store I call in to check out their deals. Now I check ALL their sell-by-dates, not just on fresh and perishable stuff.
Is the only store I feel the need to check the dates on the tinned and packet stuff.....but I have learnt not to trust their attitude on customer health and safety.
They do have good bogof offers, and have some nice bits in homeware, but Asda is my first choice and Tesco best for coupon acceptance0 -
I prefer Morrisons
There is only me and hubby...but they quite often have, fresh king prawns, strong cheddar, bacon, sausages (but i know make my own)etc on offer... and i find their fruit n veg lasts much better than ASDA... even the woopsy fruit n veg lasts better than ASDAS "fresh"...and i used to work at ASDA..which put me off as i worked on the deli and the TV programme the other night about Tesco n Sainsbury was about right..so it looks like they are all as bad as each other...lol-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Decided to try Morrisons for my big shop this month and found the a few bogofs on the healthier stuff the only thing that I didn't like was the layout all the food seemed to be categorised really strangely like tinned tuna was with the frozen stuff?!?!?Mummy to two beautiful girls and one gorgeous boy.0

I've always been a bit of a Morrison's fan but it is no longer my nearest supermarket. I think M's offers are much better that Asda's. The BOGOFs, etc, tend to be on products you use all the time (like toilet rolls, etc) and I always come out with far more than I intended. I think the quality of their own brand products is much better and in some sections they have a better range. Asda, of course, have far more on the 'non grocery' side of things.
It's only an opinion, but I find the customer service much better at Morrisons, they tend to have more tills open and more people on the shop floor to help than Asda - and don't even get me on to Sainsbury.........
M also seems to be better at stock control so you don't get as many empty shelves - but you also don't get the reductions!
If it wasn't a bit of a trek to my nearest Morrisons, I would rarely go into Asda.0
