How long until un apaid CCJ is removed from credit file?

Options
I read on another thread someone say "the ccj stays on your record for 6 years however it stays active until the debt is paid."

Well I was under the impression that the CCJ would be wiped off your file after 6years even if t was not paid off?

I thought if your on a very reduced income the court won't make you pay more than you can afford. if you can only pay a pound a month then that all they will get. Then I thought after 6 years it is all gone and you have a clean slate you do not have to pay £1 per month any more?

I know a ccj will effect your credit rating but if you have defaulted then its got bad anyway. The £1 per month is not reducing it at all its will never be paid off, do you really have to keep paying the pound per month for life? Or just the 6years?

Final question with a CCJ what happens if you do not pay the £1month? Can they bring another CCJ against you?

Are you sure? After it has been removed who will enforce that you keep paying £1month? I mean its gone from your credit file?

you will probably keep getting debt collection agencies trying to acknowledge you owe the money for years to come but just ignore them and do not acknowledge anything.

It will be removed from the register and your credit file, but the CCJ still exists and is enforceable against you should you not pay.

No, as above it still exists.

Yes, you have to keep paying if you wish to avoid enforcement action.

Not another CCJ, but they could seek to enforce the CCJ via bailiffs, a charging order, attachment of earnings from your employer, order for questioning, make you bankrupt etc.

And in theory, so I'm told, they may be able to have the CCJ re-registered. Can't say I have ever heard of that happening, and I take the possibility with a pinch of salt, but never say never.

Then what? If you already have a CCJ a couple of years old that you have defaulted on again what happens next?

Yes this is my situation exactly. They are saying all sorts of things.

In a few years time the 6 years will be up. So when its all wiped clean, how can they keep trying to get you to pay?

If you are looking for a way to negate the impact that the CCJ has on your file have you considered looking at ways of trying to settle the debt? Not matter what avenues you look at or how you re-phrase the question it's not going to go away. CCJ's don't just go away with the passage of time in the same way that defaults do.

Because you still owe money even though it is not reported on your credit file.

Think you are confusing statute barred with the removal of data from a credit report after 6 years.

Why would you not repay it when you owe it and are paying only £1 per month?
