OH and I both had letters today saying our Monument cards were being changed to Barclaycard Platinum.
My letter said it was a upgrade, OH's just said changed (although they lowered his interest rate as well (still higher than mine though).
Just wondered if this had happened to anyone else and if Barclaycard were dropping Monument?

Yeah, selling Monument, and other brands IIRC.

They're keeping some accounts though. "Higher quality accounts" I believe is the term. I guess that means you.

it is the sub prime part of barclaycard and in the wake of heavy losses bc is doing some brand rationalisation.

Monument was owned by an American bank before Barclaycard taken over think it was Providian bank who were in alot of debt.

i also heard that its only the best customers who get taken on to barclaycard , in other words if you only make the minium payment you will staywith monument.:eek:
