You need to be aware of 1 thing, not all folks can text or receive texts, hence my earlier comment about contact in printed writing;)

Me, I do OK, but I've never sent a text in my life
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I still dont think he will take this further, the letter to you from him was his last attempt to try to get you to pay him, he aint been anywhere to get legal advise , thats why he wrote you the letter..........

Just cover yourself by getting a builder in FMB prefered to say what needs to be done to correct it , keep it ready if you need to show it, or bodger roger may just want you to pay for the concrete to cover material costs.......

Give him your solicitors name and address if he contacts you, he wont want to go down that route for sure........He is full of sh*t..........

    Thank you for the warning.

Will be going first thing tomorrow. Thanks for the link.

His buddy, who was with him, and my wife who was by the window upstairs but she couldn't have heard the threat when he stormed off.

    We paid for the slabs.

It was £1950 + pay for your own slabs, shingle and geofix, which we did and which came to £1000.

I have reproduced the letter of complaint to him via email (this is how we originally contacted him).

I have also reported him to the police. I plan to inform my local authority's trading standards team tomorrow.

You won't believe this, but I only realised tonight that he still actually has a copy of a key to my garage!! (where's the smack your own face emoticon?) We gave it to him to get the slabs out in the morning as we would be at work, and like I said earlier we completely trusted him... Anyway, I've written to request he post it back by first class post immediately, and I've informed the police of this.

In return he has left his wheelbarrow in my garden. I've told him he can pick it up at a prearranged time, but he mustn't arrive unannounced. This is a much smaller issue, but if he doesn't come to collect it how long would you wait before throwing it out? It's a very rusty, old and dirty wheelbarrow.

I've also come to realise that it wasn't mortar, but a concrete mixture that he used.

Finally, here are some more pictures for you to enjoy:

I have been waiting.. but has anyone commented on the bad detailing against the party fence? Either this should have been altered and a gravel board installed, then re-fenced. Or a separation and drainage detail devised to stop wet going into the slats.

With regards the Police, I have recent posts regarding Domestic & General Insulation. This company was banned by me from returning to my home because they were causing reckless damage. They were notified in writing of this - a tip for OP.

I went on holiday and Domestic & General sneaked in whilst I was away and created more damage. The pertinent point is the keyholder spotted them arrive, challenged them, and informed them not to get up on the roof. The men intimidated the woman, made threats about them out numbering her...along the lines of get out of our way or we will...

Now the police involvement. By refusing to honour the key holders request the men committed a Breach of the Peace. If they return the police will intervene and if not satisfied, arrest the workers and lock up their vans. Then they will make enquiries into the office staff to establish why this occurred - cue more potential arrests.

In my case the police appear concerned and proactive, so I suggest you follow this procedure.
