Mmmm, sorry for not answering these points sooner: work and children!!!

What I cannot understand is what the ownership has to do with anything. M&S ownership changes every day, depending on who has which shares, and this does not mean that I can't return faulty goods!

No-one in this thread, except you, has mentioned ownership at all.

What has M&S and shareholders got to do with it?
    That's just plain silly.

You did not purchase the easel from kidsplaystore.com because that is just the name of a website.

If today you were to buy an item off that website, you would actually be purchasing from Value Comparisons Ltd.

You need to establish who was running that website at the time of making your purchase.
You were asked in post #10 if there was a company name on your invoice.
    Do you have an invoice?
Do you have any proof of purchase?

Until you can tell us who you made the purchase from, there is little more anyone can do to help.

That's a little harsh. I have mentioned ownership as that is the reason I was given for kidsplaystore not being involved in any problems with any purchases. I am not an expert in this field which is why I am seeking advice.

I bought the item from kidsplaystore.com. I have a paypal invoice from kidsplaystore ltd and an email from kidsplaystore ltd (someone@kisdsplaystore.co.uk) confirming order number, etc. I also have the paypal receipt. As far as I am was aware when I made the purchase, I was buying from kidsplaystore.com, which to all intents and purposes is still in operation, and claims to have been operating as a business since 2006; if this is not the case given their buy-out, is this then a lie?

From what you are implying, the website is an irrelevance, which puzzles me, so I need to seek help in the Netherlands....seems astounding when the company appears to be exactly the same company!!!

If it was bought over as a going concern they take on all assets and liabilities, that includes customer returns. If it was bought from an administrator then they are not liable for the old companies liabilities.
