Anyone know how i can get random companies to stop calling me, normally i would ignore or block numbers that are 08 etc but of late they are now showing up as a local number to me. How are they doing this as it is so annoying as i answer in case its something to do with my lg.

Put your telephone number in posts on internet sites.

    Unregister from TPS.

Complete LOADS of those "Consumer Lifestyle" questionaires that offer shopping coupons for returned forms. You must enter your home telephone number.

Don't forget to check the box that states:

Allow every dodgy company in the world to call me at home, any hour of the day or night

I understand that the dodgy telesales companies are now using false CLI such that the calling number appears as something almost expected e.g. a local number or even your own telephone number.

Does the CPR All-in-One Call Blocker identify those or is it also spoofed by the false CLI?

it comes with 200 numbers loaded you then have the option of pressing button when you get spam cold call which blocks number
it makes no difference if its local number/int/08../00
the only numbers you may have problem with is withheld...if you block all withheld numbers be warned that the NHS withhold numbers so if your expecting a call from your local hospital don't block withheld numbers

There is also the problem that if people are spoofing CLI numbers they could be picking them at random and thus giving you a different one on each occasion.

Really, this practice should be made illegal for calls originating in the UK - unless you have permission form your telecom supplier, granted for a legitimate reason..
