Reduced hours

As a result of a pending restructure, a few of us are being forced to accept reduced hours, up to 25% of normal working week. If this is taken, are we entitled to a redundancy payment to cushion the effect of losing a substantial part of our income? Due to current economic situation, alternative employment is not an option and we do not want to be unemployed claiming benefit. Thanks for any help

You are still employed so are not redundant, but depending on how many hours you ( and your partner) work, and depending if you have children, you may be able to claim tax credits. This is the sort of situation they were designed for.
