Please can anyone advice us on the best way for my 18year old to take his money abroad.

I've found a wallet to be the best method, or, failing that, the right hand side front pocket of my trousers.

Where and for how long?

a travel money card is usually the best option. I use caxton fx. the rates are good, there are no fees for taking money out of an atm or paying by card in shops. obviously the actual atm owner may charge you but caxton fx do not. you load on their website. they do dollar cards and euro cards. hope this helps.
