Train: Truro - Birmingham - split-ticketting?

Hi,
Can anyone help me find a cheap route from Truro to Birmingham for 1 adult and 2 children? I've been through every page of the split-ticketting thread and can find no successes for Cornwall. Need to travel up on a Saturday around 8 o'clock in the morning and return same day about 7pm. Don't mind one change.
Many thanks in anticipation!

Using Day returns you can do splits at Exeter, Taunton, Bristol, and Cheltenham. There used to be a Saturday deal from Bristol to Birmingham, but lately, I have not been able to find any availability on it. Also, last train from Birmingham to Truro on a Saturday is 17.10, or at least it is according to TheTrainLine.com, just in case anyone else knows differently!0
