Tracing old credit card & Loan accounts

I have had many credit cards & bank loans over the last 25 years whilst self employed. I recently got a credit check on line but the details only go back 6 years. How do i find previous details of who I had the cards/accounts with?

Do you have any pld bank statements or accounts that might show payments to card companies or loan providers? Other than that I think you are stuffed, Banks won't hold records from 25 years ago.
Why do you need to go that far back?

Well don't need to go that far maybe but think I may have been sold PPI when I shouldn't have been, because I have been self employed since 1988. I have had many car loans from banks or credit card companies. Changed many times over the years, no idea who was what year etc

If its for potential PPI claims - what you never had you won't miss.0
