Baclays Payment Protection / Overdraft Protection

Hi all,

I'm not one to check my bank statements (I know, I should). But recently I did check them, and it appears for YEARS I have been getting charged 'Overdraft Protection' - which on my statements recently changed wording to 'Payment Protection'. This is for my Barclays current account.

I've never asked for this before - does this sound like a case where I could be compensated?

Only if it was mis-sold to you. Having insurance doesn't entitle you to compensation.

Well I've never signed anything or even asked for it. I recall a conversation many years ago about it, and they said they'd send out an information pack... but I never agreed or signed to anything.

How would I go about this? I see so many legal companies claiming to do this for you... but my instinct tells me not to. Totally lost
