MBNA PPI - Parents income?

Hi all,

I recently received a letter from MBNA saying I *may* have been mis-sold ppi insurance, back in 2006. I filled the questionnaire in to the best of my ability, citing that I don't remember even taking out ppi. I had also written that my parents would help me out if I lost my job, got sick etc.

I received a letter today that was just confirmation they had received my letter, and also a text asking me to call them, which I did. They asked lots of questions about my parents salary, if they would have paid for my outgoings if anything happened, and also how much savings and investments they had. (which incidentally is more than enough to cover my credit card balance) I told them my parents would have paid my balance on the card if I lost my job etc. They also asked me about sick pay in my last job, which I said I couldn't remember if I was paid more than statutory sick pay (It was 7 years ago!)

Interestingly enough, when I rang the chap, he said 'an initial decision was made, and he just needed further details', then at the end of the call, he said he couldn't tell me the decision, as these details were being passed to the claims department and a decision would be made in due course.

Has anyone else been in this situation? I am incredibly impatient, and wondered if anyone had had a similar experience with regards to getting their money back with MBNA.

Thanks in advance xx

Please remember though, you are not 'claiming back' money, you are complaining that a product was missold.
