Ryanair surname change to double-barrell?

This has probably been asked before, but I booked our flight for my daughter and I some time back - since the booking, we have changed our daughter's surname to a double barrell so originally for example sarah brown and is now sarah brown-smith

My ex applied for her new passport and it is showing her new name obviously - but my question is, will RyanAir accept the original name ie sarah brown?

Many thanks

    I think you'll be OK
Maybe take the old passport along too?

When I changed my name on getting married, everything I read said that the flight booking must be in the same name as the passport you will be travelling on. It might be ok but I would contact the airline to find out for sure.

If it had been the other way around, Sarah Brown to Sarah Smith-Brown it would have been fine as Ryanair would only recognise the last surname.

But you may have a problem the other way around as the booking is Sarah Brown but her passport will considered to be Sarah Smith to Ryanair.

I too think you may be charged a name change fee.

What he said ^^^^^ Why dont you ring them?
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I did try ringing and after 3 days - finally got through!

So just an update - they changed the surname for a £10 fee and were very helpful!
