Knowhow policy for warranty return

Options
I purchased a panasonic ET60B from Currys 7 weeks ago(7/5/2013). The screen went faulty and a week ago it was picked up and taken to the knowhow repair centre for repair.
I was told that the repair should take about a week and the TV should be back with the following Sunday (23rd June), The TV did not arrive.

I tried to track the repair today and the delivery date has disappeared and a statement saying that the part needed to repair my tv is out of stock and someone will be in touch to rearrange delivery.

I rang up and try to find out what is happening and was told that the TV needs a new Led panel and that they have placed an order with their supplier but no lead time is available so they have no idea when my tv is going to be repaired.
I was told if the repair is not done within 28 days I can request vouchers for a new TV.

Obviously this is 7 week old tv so I'm rather annoyed about this whole situation as you would expect a tv to last longer than 7 weeks.

I decided to have a look through the knowhow small print on their repairs section and it states on their that you can request a replacement after 21 days if the repair is not concluded in that time.

I would like to know which one is it 21 days or 28 days ??

Thanks for reading

Joff.

On a TV that is less than 2 months old, I would be pushing hard for a new replacement set instead of a repair, irrespective of their small print.

21 days if you have a whateverhappens agreement, 28 days if it's under the manufacturer's warranty

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Well up to new still no news on when my tv is coming back. I've sent 2 emails to knowhow and got no reply their customer service is a total joke.

It's not like its an old tv it was 5 weeks old (now 7 weeks) its shockingly bad how bad it is to get this sorted !!!

I had a phone call today. I was told that its an update call for my tv and was told that there is still no arrival date for the part to be fitted so I can't be told a delivery date.

I explained to the knowhow CS person that I'm finding all this ridiculous as the tv was only 5 weeks old when going for the repair and the fact that they can't guarentee it will be repaired by the 28 day deadline is really annoying me. I also said I don't want a tv that has been ripped apart and repaired after only 5 weeks.

The reply I got was basically tough that's our terms and conditions I then asked if there was a way to get my money back the the whole situation is rally annoying me to which I was told speak to the store manager and them the knowhow person hung up.

I'm so !!!!ed off with it all know but seem to be getting nowhere as this stupid 28 day repair allowance. I could understand it if we were talking about an old tv but is was 5 weeks old !!!

Does Anyone have Any ideas on how to get this whole mess sorted ???
