MBNA have sent a letter - Virgin CC

Hi all,
first of all I have a terrible memory...perhaps someone might have a better knowledge of these things.
In 2005 I took out a Virgin Credit Card - at that stage I had PPI.
I honestly don't remember if I ticked a box or not - but I do remember having the impression that having PPI would make an application more likely to succeed.
MBNA have sent me a letter re my account ( I never approached them myself) saying I *may* have been missold PPI.
I am fairly sure, but not certain, I applied for the card online.
I have returned my claim form stating that I don't remember much (surely they know if I ticked a box or not? Would they not have checked that first?)
but that I have since realised that PPI would not have paid out to me given the measures in place by my employers in terms of sickness payments/ redundancy packages available at that time.
Does it come down solely to a tick box or are other issues considered as well?
I suppose, waffle aside, I'm asking how likely will it be that my claim will be upheld?

This is all you can do if you have no recollection.I have returned my claim form stating that I don't remember much
If the Bank find fault with the sale of your PPI they will refund, if not they won't.
Some things to consider
You bought this insurance online so this won't be considered an advised sale. You mis-bought rather than were mis-sold.
It doesn't matter what employment benefits you had, the insurance would pay out regardless of this. The point about having these benefits is that it means you didn't need the insurance, but it's a moot point since you mis-bought apparently.0 -
Well that makes a little more sense - I find the whole thing baffling.
I was never going to put in a complaint - so I suppose it will be a benefit if they do find something wrong.0
