Howdens kitchen- missing dishwasher!!

Hi all,
I bought my howdens kitchen via my kitchen fitters account. I negotiated the price and they offered to throw in a free lamona dishwasher to close the deal.

When the kitchen was delivered (my kitchen fitter took the delivery) , some bits were missing. The dishwasher was missing too. I called my Howdens rep and told him immediately.

The missing bits were delivered next week but the dishwasher never came. Howdens now insist that the dishwasher was delivered with the first delivery!! My howdens rep says he spoke to the driver and the driver insists it was picked up by a labourer (??) and he distinctly remembers it! All the kitchen units are together - the dishwasher is not there! I never saw it in the house. Also, there are more expensive items in the house - just the lamona dishwasher being stolen is very less likely...

I am clueless about what to do now.

Is the dish washer listed on the delivery note?

Whoever has signed the delivery note is responsible for accepting the goods so if your kitchen fitter or labourer has signed for something that clearly wasnt there they have checked...

A similar thing happened with our kitchen whereby the note was just signed by our builder without checking and as a result as the missing cabinet was clearly listed on the delivery note that he had signed for, unfortunatley he had to stand the loss.

The kitchen fitter signed the delivery note as unchecked.
