Altering bank statements! It is so scary! I was watching the news over the weekend (early morning) and they were reporting about hackers and how they get together to discuss schemes etc in parts of the internet that us 'normal' people don't even know exist! It is really frightening the length some criminals go to to commit a crime! This girl must be a professional to alter bank statements - I wonder how any times she has done this!?:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

I accidentally got someones council tax statement info through facebook today! i asked about it on another thread but got bombarded by trolls. I'm sticking to the compers side you all seem nicer here lol. I think its scary how information can be easily accessed by some companies. I know a few people with identities stolen and it took years to sort out.0

I'm absolutely disgusted reading this. How can someone in good conscience falsely claim a prize that wasn't even meant for them? You think people can't get any lower, then they go and surprise you.0

I don't bother with like and share comps as they are so open to cheating.
I have noticed though some big companies announcing winners asking them to email to claim their prize. Two that immediately spring to mind are Giraffe (Friday comp) and Original Source.
Maybe we should start contacting these companies yet again pointing out how cheats are trying to claim other people's prizes and asking can they not notify the winners direct? The best things in life are free.....0

I read somewhere that like & share comps are against FB rules anyway and if a company wants to do a comp they have to use a app style format like most of the larger companies do.0

Bourjois UK expect the winner to email them - I won the Funday Monday a few weeks back and had to email them. I also avoid like and share comps and yes they are against FB rules and should be reported.0

I have just had my prize stolen by someone in Dagenham.
It was £100 of vouchers for the royal baby competition where you had to guess the weight. My name was published on facebook and someone then set up a fake email in my name and claimed the prize. I did not get an email telling me I was a winner. I just found out by googling my name.
The company did not check their email against the one that was entered in the comp (mine!) so I am wondering if it was the same person mentioned on here.
I'm pretty upset someone has done this, I was the only entrant with the correct answer as well
I have just logged it with Action Fraud. The lady running the comp said seen as they are a small business she is not sure they can afford to send the £100 again, so some fraudster has spent my prize basically.0

So sorry to read this and I really feel for you. I would be mad too.
Obviously the company has the address of where the prize has been sent to so surely something can be done. If I was the Company concerned I would certainly be taking it further. I cannot abide thieves so I hope they get found out and punished appropriately.
I hope you get your prize. The best things in life are free.....0
