Warning regarding Identify theft of FB

Hi everyone,

I saw a few posts on FB today from companies who run comps warning people that theres identity theft going on where thieves are setting up emails/Facebook accounts pretending to be winners etc and claiming prizes that are not meant for them.

I have to say I am shocked and this goes totally against the idea of comping. I comp for fun, if I win I win - people who are doing this are sad!

    This is another reason to get rid of like and shares, she wouldn't be able to do this if people were entering via an app.

    Or if they PM'd the winner via facebook rather than just posting their name on their wall and asking them to email XXXX to claim their prize - anyone could send the email claiming to be the winner - as proved from above!

    Agree with that. It's not hard to PM the winner or even tag them so they get a notification.
