Cant contact Parking Eye

Hi!

We sold our car on the 23rd April to a main dealer, all the V5 forms were filled in.
We got a parking ticket on the 17th June for an offence on the 6th of June, with a photo of the car, (with its new reg plate.)

I have filled in the online form with proof of sale of the vehicle, we now we have got the final demand today. I was able to send them the DVLA notice that says we no longer own the car from the 12th June (nor was it insured at the time)

Its impossible to contact these people and they dont acknowledge their own online appeal system.

There must be a lag in the DVLA system regarding "ownership"

Lets see what happens?

  • Indeed. Just ignore them from now on. If they are daft enough to escalate it to court, you have a solid defence.

Did you get a confirmation of your initial appeal, e.g. an email? Did they not accept/reject that appeal, or give you a POPLA code?

Email them back demanding your POPLA code - you could cost them some money here !

C'mon, ParkingEye have a welter of post to deal with. :) Its barely a week since the ticket was received.

Personally I would not have simply appealed but written to them wholly rejecting their claim, giving them 14 days to put up or shut up and making it very clear that any further communication short of an immediate withdrawal of their demands would be regarded as harassment.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

I took it at face value and used their online appeal form.
The fact that there is no contact other than by post says a lot about these people?

Writing and posting a letter is a PITA to be honest.
Lets see what happens when the 14 days runs out.
I hope the law is on my side
i.e. dont own the car, wasnt driving, cant possibly know who was...

    thanks for your thoughts:beer:

Don't worry - you can't fail to win this one !

Personally, if it was me, I'd drag it out in an attempt to get them to take me to court. I appreciate that takes time, effort and cockiness but I'd love to see their faces in court when they try and explain their case to the judge !

I was going to contact the DVLA to see if the car is registered to someone else as the dealer said they could be using our name but on the DVLA website I saw this...

Calls from BT landlines are charged at £1.53 per call and £1.53 per minute or part thereafter. Calls from mobiles and other networks may cost considerably more.

    even theyre committing highway robbery!!

    might give it a miss!
