NPower Billing and price ncrease
I'm on a monthly DD plan and I'm being told that they only Bill and review every 6 months. The last bill was March and the next is apparently due in November (go figure the maths!).
However, apart from the unknown as to whether I'm going to get with a big DD hike in November, there is a significant risk that I'll get stung for the 1st July price hike because they'll estimate a lower reading at that time.
I will be ensuring I put meter readings in on the 1st but I can see I'm going to have my work cut out when the bill finally comes to get the billing right :-(
Is npower the only company to do this?

Why dont you take charge and give them a meter reading on the 1st of every month - you will then know how much you are using and can work out how much you owe and they will bill you in accordance with your useage rather than on guesstimates. Hopefully then you won't end up being in arrears and they won't end up looking after your money for you.
You will then end up with a good idea of exactly how much electricty you are using which will make it a lot easier to compare suppliers in the future.
You can review what you use and what you pay just as well as the elctricity company
If you know there's going to be a price hike in July then it's worth having a look round to see if you can get it cheaper from someone else and changing.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
That's the crazy thing ...
I have provided meter readings but they won't create a bill until November! Apparently I have to be on another plan (i.e. not monthly DD) for this to happen.
All sounds totally bonkers but the call centre being couldn't see it :-(

I can not see what your problem is. Do what other people do - wait to see the estimate they use - if it's an overestimate, keep schtum and enjoy the few extra cheap kWhs. If they underestimate, write to them with a correct reading and ask for a recalculation.
As to only billing every six months - you do understand you are contradicting yourself - it is better to be faced with revisions twice a year instead of four times if you do not like the estimates.0
