Changing/not changing passport after marriage

Hello all,
I got married this year, and have changed everything into my married name except for my passport and driving licence, as I have 7 years left to run on my passport.
I was originally going to wait before my passport expired before changing it to save paying for a new passport and "wasting" the 7 years left on it.
I am just about to book flights for next May, so I was going to book them in my maiden name, but it has just occurred to me that I have no photo ID whatsoever in my married name yet I have changed bank accounts, mortgage, wills, etc etc into my married name.
I am a bit worried that I might need photo ID for something and so am now wondering whether I should book the flights in my married name and then change my passport/driving licence before next May. (I already have flights booked in September this year in my maiden name so can't change it before then).
Has anyone else done the same and been "caught out" because they needed photo ID for something? Any other thoughts would be appreciated as I can't decide what to do now and need to book the flights next week!
Many thanks

I never changed my passport either. A copy of your marriage certicate along with old photo id is acceptable0

Can you not just change your driving license but keep your passport with your maiden name? That's what I was hoping to do as I will still keep my name at work and so most of my flights there will need to be in maiden name and so can use passport but then I would still have my married name on my driving license2020 Mortgage-Free Wannabes #20 £1495.03/£2760 OP0

Thats what i,d do too, then you can use your driving licence as photo id.0 -
my passport is in my maiden name as I have 8 years left on it. I changed my driving licence straight away with no problems after I was married. Its cheaper to change your licence!!!!!Proud mummy to an amazing 8 year old!0

Thanks for all the replies. I am going to take your advice, change my driving licence, and just try and remember to book any car hire abroad in my hubby's name and not mine!0

Honest if you have years left on both driving licence and passport leave them and just remember to book flights in maiden name
I never even changed my bank details If I was Asked I just showed a certified copy of my marriage certificate. There's no law that says you have to change your name. I still have bank accounts in both names. Never ever ever been a problem. Only changed passport when it needed renewed last year0 -
Ive been married 14 years this year and have never changed my passport to my married name even though i have replaced my passport as i lost it
Everthing driving licence bank statement ect are still in my married name
I cant be assed to to change it ( it might be against the law but I'm not using for a crime so not bothered )
The only time i use my married name is when i want to be a bit snooty to someone0
