New kitchen cupboard doors.

I have a wood affect kitchen (Beech) and want to replace the doors with cream doors to brighten it up a bit as the doors are showing signs of wear. Anyone suggest the cheapest place to get some plain cream shiny doors please. Thanks.

You're brave, starting a thread with the word 'kitchen' in the title in the early morning!

Seriously though, any idea what make of units they are?
If they are B&Q, just replace the doors with B&Q ones etc.
Alternatively try these 'kitchen door/drawer' replacement places - there is usually one in every big town.
No idea how much they cost though - always strike me as likely rip-off merchants.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
I have used IKEA for a similar job. The sell a range of doors in cream from very cheap through to some mid-range glass effect doors which are pretty nice and then some very nice wooden doors which are expensive. You can buy doors in a range of sizes and some ranges also sell side panels which can be cut to size for any finishing or funny sized places. You can buy exactly what you want and no more. If you buy from here make sure you buy the extra quiet door closing fitments. It clips onto the hinge and slows down the door closing speed so it is silent.
The Stat doors in off white are very nice - they have a slatted wood effect. These are quite expensive though.
ABSTRAKT is in yellow white - which is essentially cream. These are flat and glossy.
They also have several budget ranges some of which have cream or off white finishes.
The website is not great as you can't really see the effect on the doors. If you can't get to an IKEA then have a look at the kitchen brochure online which does illustrate the colour and effect of the doors well.
(I am not allowed to post urls yet but just go to the kitchens main page on the IKEA website, scan down and there is a link tot eh kitchens brochure which you can view online).
I have been very happy with the quality of the doors from IKEA - I don't think their internals are very high quality but if you stick tot eh doors you should be fine.0 -
Depends a bit how handy you are. When we moved in we inherited an old kitchen with swamp green doors etc. Weren't going to change it until I spotted that B&Q had doors from £15 for a door and drawer front in their cherry modern range. The only downside is that in order to fit them I had to move the hinge mounts to the right places on the inside of the cupboard. Not that hard - measure and drill, screw the hinge mounts and then attach the hinges. Job done for about £150 (and a fair chunk of that was handles which were probably 1/3 of the total). B&Q do a gloss cream slab front - not as cheap as above but not too bad - possibly worth waiting if they are between offers until they have one of their regular half price type deals.Adventure before Dementia!0

Agree Western Dave. Wherever you buy the doors from, adjusting the hinges correctly to get the doors level and closing properly is not easy for the inexperienced. It was one of the most frustrating jobs I have done.0
