2 policies on 1 car

It can be kept anywhere as long as everything is declared accurately.
The less 'normal' your situation is, the less insurers will want to quote though.0 -
my insurer asks if i am the registered owner and keeper of the car.
i may be wrong but doesnt the car have to be kept at the insured persons address also
Yes they ask and you have to answer truthfully who these are. Likewise, for the period of cover, you would need to say where the vehicle will be kept.
Some insurers may not be willing to insure a car which is owned by someone else but many are. Remember all lease cars are owned by the finance company and if you couldnt insure a vehicle you dont own leasing simply wouldnt be able to exist.0 -

In these circs you have four options:
1) Add you to their policy as either a Temporary Additional Driver or a Named Driver (depending on how long you need access)
2) Add their vehicle to your policy as a Temporary Additional Vehicle
.
Can you elaborate on point 2 further. Thanks
Scenario is that your Insurance has ended due to car write off and insurance company is willing to transfer policy over to another vehicle.
However you do not wish to purchase another vehicle at the present moment and simply want to transfer your policy to a relatives vehicle for a short period about 2 months.
The crux though is that relative already has insurance on their car.
Is the transfer feasible in this case?0 -
Contact your insurer and ask them ensuring you give them all of the facts. depending on their internal policies they may be prepared to do this or they may not. There is no hard and fast rule.0
