buying the freehold

any ideas about buying our feehold; we have a council flat which we bought 25 years ago, we and the other leasholder want to buy the freehold, the council have agreed!! but we dont know what to do next or who we need to get, the council have suggested we get a solicitor, but how do we get one who can do the enfranchisement and how do we know how much we should pay for a solicitor, any advice appreciated

You dont need to do that with LAS or enfranchise.
All you need is agree the terms with the help of your solicitor and a valuer, and your S and the Council's legal Dept will convey it to you.
You only need to exercise the formal rights if you cannot agree terms between you.Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.
