I have made a full and final settlement for a Halifax debt.
They have written to me asking for proof of id by either a passport or driving licence.
Why would they ask for such a thing? They have written to me several times, spoken on the phone a couple never an issue with security questions, or letters arriving what could they want to update?
I am a little suspicious and thought it may be wise to do a SAR.
Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts.
thanks

Hard to say, but from the subtext of that can it be said that you have moved etc since the debt was accrued and there was a point when it was not being paid?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I have moved house during this time frame but they where aware of this and I have had letters from them at my new address for the last 2 years. I was with a DMC, but reccently stopped using them and went it alone.0
