If I had my cynical head on I might think it really strange that a new user bumps a thread like this for their first post.
But who knows eh?0 -
i'm lost pauline - the newbie who resurrected the thread didn't quote anyone in their post?0

If your googling a topic and end up at this forum, you would likely not realise it's an old thread before posting.
Please cut newbies some slack. This is the internet, it's open to anyone.
I don't like inference of foul play about new posters. It just scares them off.0 -
The Goverment need to come down on the travel companies and say no you can not charge those prices - then parents won't take kids out.
The pricing of holidays has nothing to do with Government, it is simply down to supply and demand and how much profit the company makes, after all they exist to make profit and not give you a "fair" price for a holiday.0 -

Instead just sort yourselves out a holiday and don't get ripped off paying travel agent prices, there's loads of tips in this thread...0 -
well nickj, they aren't being 'asked' are they? The attitude is that the school takes precedence over family life (and not every parent CAN get their holidays at school holiday time), and they will use a big stick to enforce their rules. backed by the courts. before long parents will be seen as just babysitting the kids and the schools will have full parental rights.
Whereas at the moment, many parents perceive schools as babysitters!!
If you want to pick and choose when your child is in school and find it hard to follow rules then perhaps you should home school them.0 -

Unfortunately the facts are that some newbies just come looking to cause an argument which makes it hard to "cut them some slack" as it were.0
