Car Insurance Hastings and Flux Direct?

Its that time of the year again and the Hastings group (direct, essentials and premier) along with flux direct are coming out the best anyone had problems with any of these?

Unfortunately I get a lot of companies not quoting because my vehicle is not at my home address overnight, this is because I work nights and it is in the works car park, those that do charge extra although guess that maybe the postcode.

Search on here and you will certainly get some feedback on Hastings

Flux Direct I've never heard of, their name implies they are associated with Adrian Flux but that could be a very wrong assumption and with their website being down I cannot see the footer.

I doubt that many insurers will have that much problem with your being a night worker but it may just be their websites arent set up to deal with these cases as it is a relatively small percentage of the population. I am sure a fair proportion of those that decline online would quote over the phone.

Thanks for the reply,I get some really good prices on comparison sites but did notice with one site that i put car at home during day and work car park at night, it came out ok so I went back and changed where car is usually kept to work postcode ,reasoning that its there 5 nights a week? the price jumped by £100.

I am currently with royal & sun alliance through the AA never needed to claim so hope they are reasonable?

Personally, I cannot get excited about Motor insurance, there is very little difference between providers propositions and so really comes down to price and just a slight consideration as to if Driving other Cars or European Cover is necessary for you or not.

Claims for Motor are typically simple with the garage doing 99% of the work so with only a few insurers/ brokers I would be happy using any.

When you get into other lines, like Home, there is much more difference and which insurer you go with makes more difference.

You can always look at Which? for their consumer review of insurers
