what's the best place to get my 5th generation ipod fixed? it's out of the warranty period, has just stopped working (sad face syndrome) and apple want to charge me £160 to replace it with a refurbed one with no songs on it!!! surely it can be done cheaper? are there any companies who'll let me send it off to them who'll fix it cheaper and hopefully keep all my songs?

Not much cheaper, but £20 is £20.
Unfortunately it sounds like your hard drive is knackered, so I doubt very much any repair would be able to save your tunes0 -
damn...well i'll probably be better off just buying a brand new one then! thanks for those links tho!0
