family holidays not in school hols - ASA ruling

I've just seen this on the ASA website

I may well quote it, when my hormones get the better of me and I'm compelled to write to companies pointing out their holidays shouldn't be promoted as "Family" if they exclude school-aged children :mad:.
I've no problem them awarding holidays during off-peak periods only, just DON'T say it's family-friendly when it's not :wall:!

I agree.

Also, I particularly hate it when they do this with a holiday that is specifically for 2 adults and 2 children.

I'll be keeping a mental note of this thread as ammunition when I get my Victor Meldrew moments about family holidays with school holiday black-out dates!

I remember the Plumbworld comps - I've just unliked them. They've broken one FB rule by running this sort of comp, so hiding behind a FB rule which says they shouldn't contact someone via a DM is a feeble excuse.

I feel a bit more enlightened. I have a 16 year old and wondered about entering some of the holidays. I cannot imagine how many people lost out on holidays because of that total contradiction in T&C's
