Car insurance quote - credit check

I am trying to get car insurance quotes from confused/moneysupermrket. I am wondering, do these sites do a credit check on the quotes, if they do I guess these credit checks will affect your credit rating??

Yes they do a search and no it wont affect anything.

I dont think it even shows up for lenders.

You can rest assured that these credit checks do NOT affect your credit rating. However if you are concerned you could contact an insurance company direct or an insurance broker and ask for a quote without a credit check being done.

Some insurers run checks but these are usually generic identity checks and cannot be seen by others.

Even if lenders could see them they wouldn't give a monkeys about them, because everyone in the country who uses price comparison websites will have them. This is literally tens of millions of people.
