Egg credit card - massive hike in interest rates - BEWARE

in Credit cards
Just wanted to warn anyone with an EGG credit card - I see they are mentioned quite alot on this site.
They have recently hiked my husbands interest rate from 16.9% (which is very high anyway) to 21.9%. When I queried this they told me it was as 'a result of the way we manage the card' whatever this means!
The card held approx £10,000 of debt, we always paid twice as much as the minimum payment called for and yet they still refused to offer us a better deal. I did argue our case with this info, but it did no good at all. They even gave me the phone number of their debt crisis team in case we are having problems - how dare they!!
I told them they were irresponsible lenders, prepared to let their customers get into further debt and would be closing the card.
I have managed to get most of it off now, and in fact am now using it for the loophole mentioned on another thread (where you move everything off a card offering low BT rate and then put it all back again so it all collects the low rate). I've been doing this for a couple of months now with no come back from anyone.
Just wanted to warn anyone who might be in a similar position with EGG, to move if they possibly can before they do it to you as well.

This isn't the first time they've gone through a rate rising spree on Egg Card. Looks like you missed out on the last two rounds.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0
