I'd definatly contact the organiser and ask if they offer a cheaper tester session 1st. with pole misson it's £5 for first session then £8 thereafter (or you can buy a block i think).
I would disagree with the not needing strength you really do, however I have none but a couple of months I can feel the difference from when i started in my upper arm strength.

On good news my ankle seems to be sorting itself out, have been back on the pole a couple of times I just have to be careful not to push myself too much - went out with the kids yesterday (5 hours ish of walking) and owww I can feel the pain today.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored.
