Lost/stolen

MIL is deverstated as her youngest cat has gone missing.
She has informed all the correct channels (and done everything possible to find her), Its now day 3 that the cat has been missing.
I feel really useless as she keeps crying down the phone to me and there is nothing i can say or do to make her feel any better.
She lives for her animals, (the animals get treated better than the humans :D ).
I have just emailed our local radio station as they are willing to put something out over the air.

I know there is nothing anyone can do, but on the off chance anyone lives in St Leonards on Sea, the cat has gone missing from the gardens behind Marina (backing on to West Hill Road).
MIL is worried in case the cat has been stolen, as she looks Siamese, but she is def NOT Siamese.

My mil Siamese cat went missing, he walked out the front door one day as usual but didnt come back. She was very worried about him, he had been chipped, but did not have his collar on. After 3-4 weeks of him being gone and posters going up/vets checked she gave up hope and started thinking about getting another cat (she could not live without having at least one cat!) after going around homes to pick another Siamese cat the vet called one day as someone had bought Max in. Seems he had been locked in a garage for some of the time and for the rest we have no idea, but he was gone for about 5 weeks and luckily was fine, just a bit sheepish for a few days!!
Just to let you know even though he is a Siamese and was gone for weeks its not always bad!
Good luck to you mil I hope she finds her soon, I know how you feel about being useless though I felt the same and my mil was also very upset.
Any spelling mistakes are entirely on purpose to check you're paying attention :p

One of our cats went missing for about 6 weeks afew years ago, we thought she was gone for good when all of a sudden she appeared from no-where. What we did was print out her details and ours onto A5 sheets of paper and posted them to all the houses in the streets around here asking people to check their garages/sheds/outhouses. At least that way you feel like you're doing something useful.

Have you also put a notice in your local paper lost/found section - they may do it for free.

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

We had a cat for about three months - turned up with no collar and we thought he was a stray. He then, out of the blue, went back to his owners and it all came to light through us having both booked him in to the vet on the same day! They thought he was gone, we thought he was a stray - everyone is happy again now, but that was three months, and he was being well-looked after, so there is hope!! Not sure if that helps, but you can at least re-assure your MIL that he is probably being looked after...?

    Is youngest cat 'entire'?

One of my mum's cats vanished for quite a while. By a combination of lucky chances (someone happened to speak to a vet in another area who had happened to hear that a cat had been found) he was located in a village about 5 miles away. We assumed he'd been chasing tail ;)

When my cat went missing a few years ago, I was advised to speak to all the local vets, check the local pet centres and (this was the one that worked!) put a leaflet in the nearest 20-30 houses in either direction.

That was what I did and about 6 weeks later I had a phone call from the lady 5 doors up. She had been away, been home for a week and then away again. The cat had been shut in the shed and had lived on mice and rainwater, so he was a bit thin, but she was really pleased she had a mouse free shed, and I was chuffed to have him home again.

With the weather being like it has been, thats what I would suggest, put up posters along your road and pop a leaflet through the nearest few houses and see what happens .

    Good luck

Just has a phone call from an estatic MIL. the cat has been found!

She feels a bit of a wally, as the cat was found trapped in the drawer UNDER HER BED

Apparently there is a tiny gap that the cat can squeeze into, but she had checked there twice. (cat must have been asleep!)
Anyway SIL was there last night, and as she was walking from lounge to kitchen, she heard a strange sound as she passed the bedroom. (MIL lives in a flat)
Well as i say it turns out the cat was trapped under the bed.
So one happy cat, one estatic MIL.

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

OH that happened to the cat in the house we lodged in.... dh opened the draw under the bed to get a towel out.... had a bath leaving the draw open - closed it when he came back in!!

I knew jade was missing - no one else was worried.... i called her name when i was on the landing and heard one miaw from our room.... took me ages to find her .... she was a bit 'humpy' but otherwise ok.... there must have still been a space when the draw was fully closed (thank fully).

I had never heard it happening to anyone elses cat!!

(we also closed our sash window withouth looking window down curtains closedand didnt realise the cat was on the window ledge - she was well humpy when i opened the window in the morning)

She was a brilliant cat - felt very sad when we moved out (well not sad to get out only sad to leave the cat).

Glad your MIL cat was found.
