What do i do about my bank account(s) when i graduate?? The bank have never asked me to update my details or for any further proof that im a student, so could i get away with not mentioning it?
Or is there such a thing as a graduate account with reduced fees, etc....

The bank will assume you are no longer a student after 3 years, so you can't get away with not telling them.
Most banks offer a graduate account which has the same T&Cs as a student account (most importantly 0% interest on overdraft!), you should contact your bank and arrange a transfer to a graduate account. You should also be able to get a slightly-lower-than-normal rate loan (graduate loan) if you want one, but a 0% overdraft is obviously a much cheaper option!0 -
Hi there,
I have two student accounts (i know i shouldnt) and i was wondering if it was possible to turn both of these into graduate accounts? has anyone else done this or is it too risky?0 -
i started my student account with HSBC with the knowledge that it would turn into a graduate account automatically after 3 years when I graduated (unless I informed them that I had retakes or something and could prove it). the summer i graduated I received a letter from them with my new graduate T&Cs (still 0% overdraft, which is now systematically offering me less 'free' money over the years rather than more!)0
