  • Hello,

Well after my LBM a long time ago and not really committing myself to sorting out my situation, I have had a reality check and so:

I have a packed lunch for work
I have activated my new barclaycard and transferred my debt from Virgin (on variable rate) to a life of balance rate - so super chuffed with that, I will also set up DD for it too so no payments are misssed
I have cut up my new BC!!!! YAY
Spend an hour deciding how I can reduce my debt - overdraft etc etc
Start a spending diary (again! as went off the rails a bit!!! Back on form now)

    Good luck all!
2009 is the year to get it cleared! Debt Free Date - February 2012

    Started a Spending Diary! :D

Hi everyone - wishing everyone a great low-spend day today!

I was feeling quite anxious about money at the beginning of the week but feeling better today. Today / yesterday I have....

    - Yesterday had a good chat with DH about our money situation and we agreed to have a very budget-conscious rest-of-the-month so that put my mind at rest.
    - We went to Tesco and did the grocery shop for the rest of the week for £18.00!
    - Today I have brought my lunch in from home for the 3rd day running so no spend on food
    - Got paid today and not spent any of it yet!
    - Checked online banking to check our relative position from last month and budget accordingly
    - Pigsback / Ipoints etc.
    - Got chicken out for dinner to defrost ready to cook so we don't have to spend any money on buying dinner.

    Hey everybody -

    Commuting on the bicycle
Packed my own lunch (avocado, hummous and tomato sarnie, plum yogurt with grapes)
Hot chocolate mix instead of buying coffee for a warm drink
Making a bhuna-ish sauce for tonight by frying onions in butter, adding a tin of basic chopped tomato and two large dollops of korma paste. Bought basmati rice and frozen prawns in bulk.

I think my wife's cravings are starting to kick in. Seems to be savouries, does that mean it's going to be a boy? I got all broody seeing the latest scans - he/she was waving at the scanner ...

Hi all! A much brighter day today! :)

    Today I plan to:
*[STRIKE]take drinks and snacks with me to Ikea so don't spend too much on food (budgeted lunch money already - day out planned for 3 weeks!! lol! [/STRIKE])Did this, but still managed to spend £7 on lunch for me and ds!!
*[STRIKE]getting a lift with ds to Ikea, thus saving on petrol![/STRIKE]Yep, was great :)
*[STRIKE]only taking £10 for the bits I need, therefore not being tempted to buy things I want!![/STRIKE]Did not leave card at home and spend close to £20 :(
*[STRIKE]carry on washing and then hang clothes on air drier rather than tumble drier.[/STRIKE]yes, will hang it out in a mo.
*write dad a card, thanking for money and loveliness - not really mse, but he's helped me in mse/dfw ways recently so kind of!!
*ring lovefilm and cancel now I've sorted the lost DVD
*[STRIKE]do gfk tv survey, piggy clicks, freefivers and the usual. Check freebies board.[/STRIKE]All done bar freefivers which I'll do now.
    * use the defrosting chicken to make cheapie chicken and cheese pasta bake for tea tonight. Will prepare shortly as am tired so I know I won't be bothered later!
*list tesco vouchers and till spit on ebay tonight while 5p listing day - see if there's anything else I can list.
*list 2 bags of newborn clothes on freecycle to get rid without wasting!

So a few more things left to do, and I wouldn't mind popping to the library to sort out the overdue and lost books (yes, I am ashamed :( )
