Hello lovely DFWers.
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will:
- send everyone off with pack ups and bottles of squash so they don't need to get cans of drink from an expensive machine.
- check online banking
- make storecupboard dinner
- not increase my debt in any way
- be positive
Have a good day xx

Hi hypno, hi everyone. Today I will be:

- delivering the spec for my renovation to a local housebuilder.
- couple of phone calls - a transfer form re CIS for my mum, and a centre in London where we were trying to rent rooms - they can't do it, but they tried hard to accommodate us. Plus an email following up one last week to my accountant.
- have finished off reconciling the main body of my banking for the last year, just need to work out some totals, maybe do the reconciling for the internet payments (much smaller) and hey presto, I'm done.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hi all! A much brighter day today!

Today I plan to:
*take drinks and snacks with me to Ikea so don't spend too much on food (budgeted lunch money already - day out planned for 3 weeks!! lol! )
*getting a lift with ds to Ikea, thus saving on petrol!
*only taking £10 for the bits I need, therefore not being tempted to buy things I want!!
*carry on washing and then hang clothes on air drier rather than tumble drier.
*write dad a card, thanking for money and loveliness - not really mse, but he's helped me in mse/dfw ways recently so kind of!!
*ring lovefilm and cancel now I've sorted the lost DVD.
*do gfk tv survey, piggy clicks, freefivers and the usual. Check freebies board.
* use the defrosting chicken to make cheapie chicken and cheese pasta bake for tea tonight.
*list tesco vouchers and till spit on ebay tonight while 5p listing day - see if there's anything else I can list.
*list 2 bags of newborn clothes on freecycle to get rid without wasting!
That'll do for now!

Hi Hypno
My small dfw thing today is:
- have a no spend day
- do some pig clicks and also quidco
My best dfw thing today however is:
- was since cancelling the gym I am concerned I will lose my stomach muscles, so researched buying a gym ball to sit on during day (apparently like doing 100s of sit ups a day). Dropped a few subtle hints at work and the Office Junior has now been sent out to purchase 4 (1 for each of us ) - hence saving me the cost of buying one and now everyone thinks they will be super slim and thanking me for the good idea :rotfl: :T0 -
