Cheapest place to get plywood

I have ordered a storage rack without shelf panels and need 4 600*1600 plywood panels or any other material for that matter. I'm assuming plywood would be the most durable for this use.

Trouble is bnq and other places can easily run up costs to £15 a panel. Surely it has to be available cheaper.?

Any recommendations where I can get some from?

I'm open to diying and joining a few different panels

You can cut 3 shelves from 1No 2440*1220 sheet of material. Cost is dictated by type and thickness of material. B&Q offer a cutting service. Local timber/builders merchants may well do the same (but may charge) so shop around to see what is available.

thanks that's a great suggestion. Cutting up a larger piece is more economical, this is what I ordered = http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370815167819

the panels won't require any DIY at all, it will be kept in place by the corner pieces.

The metal sheets look a bit flmsy in the pictures, i just hope it's a little tighter than what it looks like there.

Not bad value if there any good do let is know.

As for wood it depends on what weights were talking about and where.

Without knowing what sort of racking you've bought, it's a bit hard to say, but generally, chip board will be fine, so long as it's not going to get wet or massive loads on.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

Look out for any skips, there might be something worth salvaging in there.

Yes great value indeed, they're selling the same unit with shelves on their website for around £140 after VAT and delivery. So it's great value if you consider the fact that yopu can easily buy shelves for these.

I just hope it's sturdy enough, the pictures make the steel look like it's made thin 1mm sheets which would crumble.

But it does say load rating is 350kg so it should be a bit more substantial.

i just got word from the seller that it's 1.6mm thick.

Considering that I have a car ramp that I drive up which is 3mm thick steel. I think it should be plenty thick for basic shed storage.

seller misled me, it's 1mm thick and looks very flimsy. Would not buy again!
