Good Afternoon
I'm new to this forum, I have read few topics and have seen that people are very helpful here. Any help/explanation would be appreciated
I recently have been trying to apply for a credit card, but have been declined everytime, tried different cards and different banks. I then signed up to Experian to check my credit score, and my credit score is 873 (fair).
then it also says 1 negative factor - ' You have no successfully settled credit account'. I have no loans or debts. So I called Experian and they told me that I have to call the bank. I called my bank and in the credit department they are telling me to try in a month's time. I did that for the past 3 months.
Last October my bank cancelled my credit card because I haven't used it for over a year, is it that why I have this negative factor?
Does anybody know how to get it off my record?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you

in april and may like 4-5 credit cards. all declined. then I went to the branch and she told me to wait a month, I did, and the same happened.

Their score is a steaming pile of pants.
I've heard before that lenders like to see settled accounts so this is true. But the card you used to have should be marked as settled.
You should apply for a Vanquis card in a few months and start building a profile with them. Imagine you will be rejected for anythingbif applying within the next 3 months.
The electoral roll, as mentioned before, is also a key point.0 -
If your bank cancelled your credit card, then that account should be marked as settled. If not, what does it say?:beer:0

I have spoken to the bank again, and the guy told me to try to apply next month when the credit gets updated. He did confirm to me that the past credit card has been marked as settled. He also told me that he cant access my credit history and couldnt explain why im getting declined for credit cards nowadays. :S0
