I've got £20k sitting in my Barclays current account for the next two months before my house purchase goes through. I think they are paying me 0.1% (!)
What would be the best place for this money to be bearing in mind I will need instant access to it in about 2 months?

Barclays do an online e-saver - something like 4.5%
not brilliant but saves you loosing interest waiting to open another account and switching the money to and fro0 -
Barclays don't appear to have a great range of savings accounts but with such a short timescale you'd probably be best opening their e-savings account at 4.75%, see:

There are many better paying accounts but often these take a week or 2 to open due to money laundering regs and as every 1% extra you get only gives you about £13.33pm after tax I'd go for speed and convenience.0 -
You could also try ING https://www.ingdirect.co.uk they are currently offering 4.75 per cent with instant access0
