Smart Parking Fine in Union Square Aberdeen

All,
Recently I went to shopping with my just born baby and parked in disabled parking bay as I could not find any parent and child parking.
When I came back , I was issued with parking fine ticket by Smart parking. I have appealed to them stating the situation but haven't received any letter so far.
I was issued temporary disabled badge from HSE department for using company disabled car parking as I was suffering severely from PGP during pregnancy and post pregnancy.
I have read that we can ignore the parking fine from private company in other post. Am I right in assuming that I can ignore the ticket issued by Smart Parking?
Thanks

Yup - POFA does not apply in Scotland, so ignoring them completely is the best option. Your having contacted/"appealed" to them does not make any difference. Just ignore all subsequent threats unless they take the very unlikely step of issuing a small claim.
Pregnancy-related issues do also come under the Equality Act, which would entitle you to a space as a reasonable adjustment so you also have the option of contacting U-Squ's management directly, informing them of your situation and having them cancel the ticket.
If its any help, I have found them pretty reasonable on parking matters in the past.0 -

Do not just write it as an appeal or they will tell you to direct it to their PPC. You do not want to deal with the PPC.
Write it as a very assertive complaint, citing this, enclosing a copy of your temporary badge and saying that you clearly qualify to park there under disability provision:
http://www.healthscotland.com/equalities/equalityact.aspx
and basically requiring Union Square to call their dogs off before you sue.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
