British Gas Remote Heating Control with App

I just logged into my British Gas account and was having a browse and saw the remote heating control product.

Seems interesting and was wondering if anyone had one and whether it's worthwhile.

I have a couple of questions too:

a: can you control the hot water with it?

b: Is it transferable, say if we were to move energy supplier?

At the moment the heating is controlled by a very basic timer, we only change it every season to take account of the weather, would be good to have a bit more control and perhaps save some cash on our bills.

Hi, a is no and b is yes.
My annoyance with the unit is that I don't seem able to over-ride it on the thermostat so there have been occasions I have been cooking because the kids have pinched my phone.
Think the system may well come into its own in the winter this year especially if the firmware and app continue to be improved.

We have it and I think its worth having! We've also downloaded the iphone app so we can change the heating regardless of where we are! Particularly handy considering we live in scotland - can be roasting one minute and absolutely freezing the next

How much to have it installed? Do they sell for DIY?

Think it was £199 for the product and for it to be installed by BG. Not sure about DIY.
