I do the egg test and often boil half a dozen at once to save time and energy costs.
Yes, I agree that even £4 isn't cheap and soon adds up especially when bus fares have to be added into the equation and perhaps a family wishes to go out for a treay...no wonder so many are staying in and not going out."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. The local independant cinema in our town costs £7.50 for an adult - the not so local large chain one is 50p cheaper but as its 12 miles away the cost of petrol doesnt make it worth while. As both DDs are classed as adults now it's £30 just for entry.....its daft. We wait until things come out on DVD and then wait a year until that DVD is selling for £1 at a local bootsale. We know a trader that buys them back at 50p each so that's what we do. 50p and some homemade treats, in your jimjams, on the sofa or £30 in the cinema which is often far to loud and the aircon is far to cold.
Fuddle - if you're feeling brave you could replace the zip yourself, have a search for videos on replacing zips, it's easier than it looks.
Just had some good news - £175 win on the p-bonds this month!! (it nearly covers fluffy kittens treatment) Fab!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
FUDDLE if the egg floats I'd ditch it, I wouldn't take chances with off eggs, the results are far from pleasant, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Kidcat I hate it when people looking at us. sound like your having a fab holiday. Your pics on fb are fantastic.
Ds2 wants to go to legoland so going to look into some tickets and places to stay.
Got some good news I havent broken my foot. But I have to wear a special boot for a month. Should see it looks like massive snow boot. So fuddle well definitely be able to mooch about:D
The boot feels weird and is really heavy but I should get used to it.
The surgeon looked at my xray sand said whats looks like so piece of broken bone. Is actually.massive degree of wear and tear i.e. another patch of arthritis.
Different surgeon looked at ds2 arm, said it's looks fine even though he is pain. I asked for physio to build up stability. He said oh he doesnt needs help so he has out with hypermobility. I forced the issue and said well precisely thats why he bess needs it more than someone also. So physio stats in two weeks time.0 -
Vj mum the festival, were hoping to go next year.
Sorry, I should have said that if anyone does want to go to the festival next year, you need to register before you can buy tickets. Registration is open now
https://glastonbury.seetickets.com/Registration/Register
You need to upload a photo of everyone who should be registered (children under 12? 14? are free so don't need registering). Tickets go on sale in October, this year they were £205 each
Also thank you to whoever uploaded the list of what to take - I'm so sorry, I have looked back but can't find the post to thank you by name. it was an invaluable help.
I wont mention it again!I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Lyn do you know the name of those mentholish gel sprinkles, one cat round here doesn't even bother to bury it, even does it in the middle of the lawn.

Hi everyone, Fuddle I found it! :j
I posted earlier about becoming a SAHM and Fuddle suggested I come over here to see you guys. Not entirely sure, maybe I am being over sensitive but someone suggested maybe I need to get better organised :-(. It's not about that for me, it's about being able to spend quality time with my family and not the snatched moments they get when I have 5 mins for them.
Is there a small amount of stigma attached to being a SAHM? I can't imagine anything better than being able to provide my family with fresh home cooked meals, time to chat to stressed teenagers, homemaking0 -
Hi moments of sanity, welcome.
TBH, being a working/SAH mum is such a bone of contention, we can't win whatever we do. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. (Apart from your family of course, they matter!)0 -
Politicians have probably caused the mixed feelings over being a stay at home parent. But those who work are often accused of neglecting their children. I don't think the media has helped either...as Possession says you can't win on some topics."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy.
